Even if you are pressed for time, these are a few chores you can actually accomplish in thirty seconds or less! Getting a little done while waiting for someone to get out of the shower in the am, or while waiting for toast to toast can be quick and easy!
- Bathroom Trash Cans – Keep extra bags in the bottom of the bathroom trashcan and make changing out the bag quick and easy.
- The Television – Do a quick dusting of the TV then run a dryer sheet over it to help dust from resettling.
- Mirrors – Do a quick cleaning of your mirrors, try using vinegar and newspaper to get them squeaky clean!
- Appliances – Wipe down the outside of an appliance, a stove, microwave, toaster, etc. They will last longer with regular cleaning and upkeep.
- Smoke Alarms – Test all the smoke and carbon monoxide testers in the house.
- Air Vents – Dust both the outgoing air vents and the incoming one where the filter is, while your at it, see if the filter needs replacing.
- Mail – go through a stack of mail, toss junk, organize the rest.
- Plants – Dust and water plants, trim dead areas and fertilize.
- Counters – It only takes a second to wipe down a table or counter top. This will keep your family safe too.
- Overlooked Areas – wipe down those easily forgotten areas like phones, baseboards, remotes, walls, etc.
- Fridge – You can do a quick cleanout, removing the empty things that husbands tend to put back into the fridge instead of the trash….
If you are as big a fan of lists as I am then you will love this Do Your Chores Notepad by Knock Knock- I am constantly listing my chores for the day on a old envelope! Something like this would be a great addition to my desk!!

Nice ideas — except they take me about 5 minutes each. I’m a slow poke, though.
you should come to my appartement and clean my tv – you would love the amount of work that is hidden here;-)
Léonie.
I really like the hint for #1. I’m going to go do this right away.
The rest – they’ll certainly take me WAY MORE than 30 seconds
Now if only I could do my whole house in 30 seconds!!
Wowww
These ideas never came to my mind before reading this post.
Let me add your blog to my Google reader.
